Best Practices

Updated over 2 months ago

Prioritize High-Value Products

Focus on Winners:

  • Start with best-selling products

  • Enhance high-margin items first

  • Complete top 20% before expanding

  • Perfect your core offering

Strategic Order:

  1. Hero products - Your flagship items

  2. High-volume sellers - Most orders

  3. High-margin products - Best profitability

  4. Seasonal stars - Timely opportunities

  5. New launches - Build momentum

Write Benefits, Not Features

Feature vs. Benefit:

  • ❌ Feature: "Made with organic cotton"

  • ✅ Benefit: "Soft on sensitive skin, chemical-free comfort"

  • ❌ Feature: "24-hour battery life"

  • ✅ Benefit: "Never worry about charging during your workday"

  • ❌ Feature: "Includes 3 attachments"

  • ✅ Benefit: "One tool that replaces your entire toolkit"

Benefit Formula:

  • Feature + So that + Outcome

  • "Waterproof design so that you can use it in the shower without worry"

  • "Lightweight construction so that you can carry it all day without fatigue"

Define Clear Target Audiences

Be Specific:

  • ❌ Generic: "Anyone who wants to be healthy"

  • ✅ Specific: "Busy professionals who want convenient meal prep without sacrificing nutrition"

  • ❌ Generic: "People who like fashion"

  • ✅ Specific: "Fashion-forward women 25-40 who value sustainable, ethically-made clothing"

Include:

  • Demographics (age, gender, location, income)

  • Psychographics (values, interests, lifestyle)

  • Behaviors (shopping habits, decision factors)

  • Pain points (what they struggle with)

Focus on Problems Solved

Think Customer-First:

  • What keeps them up at night?

  • What frustrates them about current solutions?

  • What would make their life easier?

  • What outcome do they truly want?

Problem Examples:

  • "You waste time scrolling through complicated settings"

  • "Traditional solutions are too expensive for your budget"

  • "You're embarrassed by how your current product looks"

  • "You can't find a solution that actually works"

Use Emotional Language

Connect Emotionally:

  • How does the product make them feel?

  • What confidence does it provide?

  • What worry does it eliminate?

  • What aspiration does it fulfill?

Emotional Benefit Examples:

  • "Feel confident in any situation"

  • "Peace of mind knowing your family is protected"

  • "The pride of looking your absolute best"

  • "Relief from constant worry and stress"

Update Based on Performance

Learn and Iterate:

  • Track which products perform best in ads

  • Note which benefits resonate most

  • Test different problem angles

  • Refine based on customer feedback

Continuous Improvement:

  • Review quarterly

  • Update descriptions based on reviews

  • Add newly discovered benefits

  • Remove underperforming products
